Rocket Software Names Darlene Williams Chief Information Officer, Phil Buckellew President of Infrastructure Modernization

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rocket Software, a global technology leader that develops enterprise software for some of the world’s largest companies, today announced Phil Buckellew will serve as President of Infrastructure Modernization and Darlene Williams will serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Buckellew and Williams step into their roles as Rocket Software continues to innovate at scale and solve today’s most complex infrastructure problems.

Buckellew will be responsible for all aspects of Rocket Software’s Infrastructure Modernization Business Unit, which helps enterprises future-proof their technology. His responsibilities include overseeing worldwide development, product management and solutions development. Buckellew will also help further deepen and expand Rocket Software’s successful long-standing partnership with IBM. Buckellew joins Rocket Software from IBM, where he most recently served as general manager for IBM Cloud Platform-as-a-Service and was responsible for driving overall product strategy, offerings, development, and operations across the IBM public cloud.

“I feel fortunate that I can bring my passion and experience in the infrastructure world to a company dedicated to staying one step ahead of modernization and helping its customers do the same,” said Buckellew. “I look forward to building upon the success of the company and helping our customers with their technology infrastructure.”

As Chief Information Officer, Williams will be responsible for developing and executing digital innovation transformation strategies essential to Rocket Software’s success. Williams also brings a passion for building on Rocket Software’s culture of inclusion and creating an environment where team members have a sense of purpose and opportunity for career advancement. Williams has more than 20 years of experience in IT strategizing and delivering large-scale business and technology transformations across multiple industries. She first joined Rocket Software in December 2021 as interim Chief Information Officer, a position that was covered by the Wall Street Journal. Prior, she held technology leadership roles at Arisma Solutions LLC serving large private equity firms.

“Joining Rocket Software as Chief Information Officer is a chance to help lead a value-driven organization that helps enterprises modernize in the face of complex issues facing their critical infrastructure, data, and applications,” said Williams. “Not only will I drive technology and business transformations, but I will also have the opportunity to contribute to the company’s outstanding culture.”

“We continue to bolster our leadership bench as we innovate for our customers around the world,” said Milan Shetti, President and CEO, Rocket Software. “Both Darlene and Phil bring a proven track record of growth and innovation and their expertise in IT infrastructure, mainframe modernization, and organizational change management will be invaluable for our company.”
